THOMAS PEFOK

Tom is a defender of human rights and civil liberties. He holds a
Bachelor of Science honors degree in Physiology from the University of
Calabar – Nigeria, and a Masters Degree in Applied Health Physiology
from Salisbury University, Maryland – USA. He is currently an instructor
of Human Anatomy and Physiology, in the Department of Biological
Sciences at Prince George’s Community College, Maryland. Tom is also an
Adjunct Faculty member at the Takoma Park/Silver Spring and Rockville
Campuses of Montgomery College, Maryland.
Besides his duties as an instructor, Tom is also the departmental
coordinator at the University Town Center (UTC) and Laurel College
Center. He is serving in various committees at PGCC and is a mentor in
the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Collegian Center. Tom’s
is very dedicated and committed to the success of his students and
volunteers as a Biology tutor at UTC. He also very involved with the
High School youth group at Wallace Presbyterian Church and is currently
the Secretary General of PSS Mankon Ex- Student’s Association in the
USA.
Tom is very interested and been involved for long in the democratization
process in Cameroon. He is currently affiliated with non-governmental
organizations involved with human rights, development, and HIV/AIDS
prevention in Cameroon. He has also been involved in past anticorruption
and good governance campaigns in Cameroon.
