CAMEROON LAWS

“The Constitution is not an instrument for the government to restrain the people; it is an instrument for the people to restrain the government, lest it come to dominate our lives and interests” - Patrick Henry

PICAM understands that a vibrant civil society is predicated on access to the right information. We are committed to enhancing the peoples’ knowledge on the laws that affect their daily lives. PICAM recognizes that an informed civil society is an essential component to the democratization process of any country. This PICAM project seeks to facilitate and enhance the public’s access to the most import laws in Cameroon, specifically those that fall within PICAM program areas. Besides Cameroon laws, the Cam Laws project also enable the public to access other international treaties, conventions, and reports on Cameroon. We have attempted to upload national legislations (Cameroon Laws) that are most relevant to our programs. A link is also provided to enable easy access to the government website where a search can be conducted for other laws, decree, and orders.

Besides national laws, our Cam Laws project also link to specific international treaties and report pertinent to our programs. These documents have merely been linked to, not uploaded onto our website. They include African Union Instruments, United Nations Instruments, US State Department Human Rights Reports on Cameroon, Amnesty International Annual Human Rights Reports on Cameroon, and Cameroon's Periodic Reports to United Nations Treaty Bodies. They can be accessed by clicking on the relevant link on our website. Please follow the links below to review or access various laws, conventions, and reports on Cameroon. We welcome  your suggestions on laws or other important documents you deem necessary for inclusion under this project. Send email to info@picam.org.
