Guidelines
CCDHR Fundraising Fellows will assume leadership
responsibilities in developing the fundraising the
department of the organization. This includes the
following:

Research
and identification of viable fundraising
opportunities for the organization.

The development and harmonization of fundraising
initiatives
of organization.

Coordination of all fundraising events and
activities of the organization.
-
Development of a standardized fundraising
framework to be included in a database for easy
retrieval, updating, and utilization for future
purposes as appropriate.
Responsibilities
-
Work with individuals, communities, businesses,
and charitable trusts to raise awareness of
CCDHR, its mission, vision, programs, projects,
objectives and goals in an effort to increase
the financial support for the organization by
these stakeholders through the building of
relationships and exploring new fundraising
ideas.

Make risk analyses and balancing time-cost
ratios to focus effort on the most appropriate
fundraising activities with the highest chance
of success, monitor income and expenditure
against budgets and the target, and prepare
reports for donors of the organization.

Manage the planning and organization of a wide
range of funding raising events and activities
of the organization, including the drafting and
dissemination of appropriate communications and
professional interpersonal contacts.

Raise awareness of the organization’s work, at
the local, national, and international level
including speaking engagement to groups or
dealing with the media in CCDHR marketing,
public relations, and fundraising efforts.

Develop and coordinate new and imaginative
fundraising activities, such as events-based and
web-based fundraising initiatives to enhance the
financial ability of the organization.

Work with all forms of media, and producing
supporting materials such as posters, websites
and newsletters to promote, market, and
publicize the organization and its fundraising
events and initiatives.

Manage and update databases to record donor
contact and information preferences, preparing
mail-shots and correspondence using direct
mailing to reach a wide range of current and
potential donors.

Coordinate the activities of the fundraising and
public relations department, fundraising
volunteers and interns, and collaborate with the
grant writing department of the organization.

Must be passionate about CCDHR's mission to
promote and support human rights, democracy,
peace building, development, and humanitarian
assistance in Cameroon.
Qualifications
-
Experience as a professional fundraiser
preferable.
-
Exceptional communication and interpersonal
skills.
-
Extensive knowledge of fundraising and public
relations strategies.
-
Existing reservoir of fundraising structure and
network for nonprofits.
-
Demonstrated ability to successfully organized
fundraising events and activities.
-
Ability to use own computers, various software
products, and email to carry out
responsibilities.
-
Ability to work individually and as part of a
team in the fundraising and public relations
effort of the organization.
Recognition
At the end of the fellowship, fellows will be awarded a “Certificate
of Fellowship” stating the duration of their
fellowship, and a "Letter of Accomplishment"
stating their duties and achievement during their
fellowship with CCDHR. A fellowship with CCDHR
presents an opportunity to contribute to the
building of a strong civil society and improving the
lives of people in Cameroon.
