Guidelines
Grant Writing Fellows will assume leadership
responsibilities in developing the grant writing
department of the organization. This includes the
following:

Research and identification of viable grant
opportunities for the organization.

The
preparation, writing, and submission of grant applications
in a timely manner.

Writing of letters of inquiry; submission of
formal proposals according to the grant
guidelines of specific grant makers
-
The development of standardized grant writing framework to be
included in a database for easy retrieval,
updating, and utilization for future purposes as
appropriate.
There is no salary for the Grant Writing Fellowship position. However, we will
negotiate compensation with our fellows once first
grant is received and they continue on helping us
get future grants.
Responsibilities
-
Complete extensive research of nonprofit
foundations, corporate sponsors, government
programs, and individual donors to collect data
and identify viable funding opportunities via
online website listings, databases,
clearinghouses, and directories (online and
printed publications) whose funding missions
match CCDHR funding needs.

Complete all stages of grant proposal
development including confirmation of project
objectives, contact with the grant makers for
clarification of grant guidelines, development
of letters of inquiry, and the submission of
online applications and formal proposals as
required by specific donor organization.

Proofread and edit text for correct grammar,
spelling, punctuation, concise and easy to
understand language which appropriately
communicates
CCDHR's planning, research and
strategic vision in regard to its grant writing
and funding requests.

Demonstrates flexibility in approaching
CCDHR
grant seeking efforts as appropriate for any
worthy and reputable organization regardless of
its stage of growth and development.

Submits grant proposals to the grant makers and
properly maintain follow up contact with grant
makers regarding the status, results, and
potential feedback.

Coordinate the activities of the grant writing
department, grant writing volunteers and
interns, and collaborate with the fundraising
and public relations department of the
organization.

Disciplined and committed in completing projects
within the requested time frames for
CCDHR,
taking into account donors’ deadlines for
proposal reviews and approvals.

Must be passionate about
CCDHR's mission to
promote and support human rights, democracy,
peace building, development, and humanitarian
assistance in Cameroon.
Qualifications
·
Experience as a professional grant writer
preferable.
·
Extensive knowledge of grant maker research and
grant proposal development.
·
Exceptional attention to detail.
·
Demonstrated ability to successfully complete
projects within requested time frames.
·
Ability to use own computers, various software
products, and email to carry out responsibilities.
·
Ability to work individually and as part of a team
in the grant research and proposal writing efforts
of the organization.
Recognition
At the end of the fellowship, fellows will be awarded a “Certificate
of Fellowship” stating the duration of their
fellowship, and a "Letter of Accomplishment"
stating their duties and achievement during their
fellowship with
CCDHR. A fellowship with
CCDHR
presents an opportunity to contribute to the
building of a strong civil society and improving the
lives of people in Cameroon.
