"How good and pleasant it is,

for brothers and sisters to

dwell together

in unity"

(Ps. 133:1)

OUR IDENTITY

We, the participants of the Presbyterian Immigrants Coalition of North America (PICAM), are members of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Togo (EPCT), called in French, Eglise Evangelique du Togo (EEPT), who live in the United States. On September 15 and 16, 2012, members of the EPCT residing in the US gathered in Sharon Hill, PA, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Komlan Ezunkpe at Tully Memorial Presbyterian Church for the purpose of getting to know each other, the different congregations we attend, and our states of residence including Pennsylvania, Illinois, Michigan, Maryland, Minneapolis, Colorado, North Carolina, Virginia, New York, New Jersey, and Delaware.

This first meeting enabled the participants to develop a national network and lay the foundation for a nationwide coalition gathering us in one entity and under one leadership. Thus, the creation of the Presbyterian Immigrants Coalition was initiated.

We are not a congregation or an organization of the EPCT in the US, but a community of Christians who acknowledge our roots in the EPCT. We believe that in a relationship with other believers, particularly our partner church, PCUSA, we can grow and serve God in love, tolerance, and compassion both abroad and at home. Many of the Coalition's participants are ordained pastors, lay pastors, elders, deacons, and members of the EPCT and the Presbyterian Church USA, our host denomination in the USA.
